Current

The stretch along Örtjärnen is currently very difficult to get around on. A large number of trees have fallen due to spruce bark beetle infestation. To get there, you have to make a detour around the trees, and in some cases climb over.
This will be addressed as soon as possible.

The stage can either start at Örtjärnen or at Högbyn's old ski resort. The stage invites you to a very tough hike that sometimes requires a good grip and very good condition. Since almost the entire stage goes in very varied terrain and on singletrack trails, it is a stage that is best suited for the experienced hiker.

If you want, you can also park at Fagersta municipality's fishing lake, Abborrtjärn and hike shorter parts of the stage to, for example, Lindbostugan, which with its fantastic surroundings creates the conditions for overnight stays, barbecues or lighter physical activities. Stage 22 of Bruksleden invites you to challenges that you will never forget. In addition to Lindbostugan, there are really nice opportunities for overnight stays at several shelters. You also pass several lakes such as Billsjön.
