The section between Skålbystugan and Toftsjön runs on paths through forest terrain. Towards the end you pass the eastern part of the vast Toftmossen.
You start at the rest area Skålbystugan. After about 4 km of hiking, the trail joins stage no. 3 from Skultuna. The terrain now consists of alternating dense and slightly more open coniferous forest where the ground is covered by large boulders. Once you reach Toftmossen, you walk on footbridges and paths at one edge of the large wetland. After a while, the paths lead you across the bog and from here it is not far to the stage destination Toftsjön. At Toftsjön there is a shelter overlooking the water.
RESTING PLACES
At the start of the stage you will find Skålbystugan, a rest cabin with four beds. The cabin is located on a small hill at the edge of the forest. There is also a TC here.
At Toftsjön there is a shelter in a nice location with a view of the water. It has room for 6-8 people. Tent sites can be found around the shelter.
Directions
About 800 m north of the stage goal at Skålbystugan there is a road, but no parking facilities.
Toftsjön is not accessible by public transport or by car. The nearest bus stop is out by road 66. You can get there by continuing Bruksleden another 5 km past Toftsjön and Långsjön.
