The stage starts on the west side of the Svartån river, in the northern part of the mill community Skultuna. In Skultuna you can visit Sweden's oldest brass mill. Since 1607, brass wire, mortars, pots and chandeliers have been manufactured here.
After walking a kilometer along small roads, you pass Norrängs blomsteräng. There is a picnic area among the flowers by a small stream. At the shooting range beyond the flower meadow, the trail turns off into the deep forest where the ground is covered with moss-covered boulders. Gradually the forest thins out as the rocks become more numerous.
The trail continues past Husmossen, where stage 2 from Skålbystugan connects, through alternately dense and slightly more open coniferous forest. At Toftmossen you walk on footpaths and paths at one edge of the vast wetland. After a while, the paths lead you across the bog, and from here it is not far to the stage finish at Toftsjön. At Toftsjön there is a shelter overlooking the water.
